On the 19th March 2022 I will start in the 6th edition of the prestigious Indian Pacific Wheel Ride from Fremantle to Sydney, a 5500km solo unsupported bikepacking ride across Australia. I will participate as #ThinBlueDot 2022 proudly supporting NSW Police Legacy.

The ride will start at 6:22am at South Mole Lighthouse, Fremantle, travelling through outback Western Australia along the Nullabor Plains and Eyre Highway along the edge of the Great Australian Bight to Port Augusta, before turning south to Adelaide, then winding its way along the Great Ocean road to Melbourne. Turning north, the ride goes up and over the Victorian Alps and NSW Alps before heading to the nation's capital Canberra. It then continues north through the Southern Highlands of NSW before heading across to the coastal city of Wollongong, continuing up through the Royal National Park, winding its way through suburban Sydney before crossing the Sydney Harbour Bridge and finishing at the forecourt of the Sydney Opera House.

The ride should take me 35 to 40 days riding and I am aiming to raise a minimum of one dollar for every kilometre I ride (preferably with your help a whole lot more!). I need to average more than 135km per day to reach my goal, but some days I will need to ride 185km to 235km just to get to my next camp site or town to re-supply food and water.

I am planning to finish on or before 28 April 2022 so I can take part in my 8th year of the Remembrance Bicycle Ride from Sydney to Canberra supporting NSW Police Legacy as ride captain for Peloton 4.

So please help me help the Police Family! NSW Police Legacy is close to my heart, as it raises much needed funds to help the children and partners of Police Officers who have died serving the great State of NSW. Every dollar can make a difference in a child's life or the life of a partner who is now doing it tough. DONATE BELOW.

Thank you for your support.

Respectfully,
Anthony New aka: #ThinBlueDot
